< < Back to ohio-football-athletic-department-sells-ohio-merchandise-at-discounted-priceATHENS, Ohio — The Ohio athletics department held their own version of spring cleaning before Ohio’s Spring practice Saturday afternoon. Hundreds of Bobcat fans were eager to see what kind of items they could walk away with for a major discount.
“I love these events,” Tyler Carr, an Ohio Bobcat fan said. “I’ve been to a couple (Ohio merchandising sales) and picked some nice stuff up. There are tons of people walking around here. I think it’s really good.”
The sale was a great way for fans like Tyler and alumni to make the trip to Athens.
“I’m a collector and first and foremost I have a lot of sports memorabilia,” Rod Bennett, an Ohio alumnus said. “To finally be able to get stuff from Ohio is really special us and will be good to add to the collection.”
Plus, there were parents of players looking for their sons jerseys and some gear heading into the season.
“It’s super cool, we were looking forward to getting here to look for and hope to find No. 17,” Bobbi Yates, the mother of Ohio quarterback Naylan Yates who’s jersey number is 17. “It’s super awesome, I can’t believe that the line for the apparel was miles down the road. It gives you a head start and go ahead and get your stuff so that way when the season starts, you have everything ready to go.”
And of course, it wouldn’t be an Athens experience without a Rufus citing.
“The football stuff already is almost gone,” red shirt freshmen Anthony Whitney said to Rufus.
Everyone made sure to get their discounted Bobcat gear for the 2019 season.
