Playoffs, the time where everything a team has done is put to the test. Every team begins 0-0 and it’s win or go home. The biggest players are set on the biggest stage. Every team has the same goal: to win a state championship. In the middle of it all is our Gridiron Glory Player of the Year race.

IN:

TVC- OHIO

Joey Moore (QB, Athens Bulldogs)

Despite missing the playoffs, Joey Moore led the Bulldogs through a great season with a share of the TVC-Ohio title. Week in and week out, Moore has not stopped surprising us with his cannon of an arm and his speed in the ground. According to MaxPreps, Moore the second most passing yards and the most rushing yards in all of Ohio division three.

  • 169/270 (63% Completion) 2,401 Passing Yards, 24 Passing TDs, 160 Carries, 760 Rushing Yards, 11 Rushing TDs

Rylan Molihan (RB/DB, Wellston Golden Rockets)

For the first time since 2006, the Wellston Golden Rockets were in the playoffs. Molihan had a crucial role in being there. Molihan plays both sides of the ball in standout fashion. Despite losing the two of their last three games of the season, Molihan’s performance is one for the books.

  • 160 Carries, 1,160 rushing yards, 11 rushing TDs, 5 interceptions, 10 receptions, 101 receiving yards, 1 receiving TD, 1 passing TD

Frontier Athletic Conference

Jayden Spires (RB/OLB, Jackson Ironmen)

Coming into the playoffs, Spires and the Ironmen had one goal: dominate. In their 70 to 28 round one victory over the Centennial Stars, Spires had 225 rushing yards in 20 caries while also finding the end zone twice. Spires shows each week how dependable he is. Give the man the ball and he will do what he does best.

  • 156 Carries, 1281 rushing yards, 19 rushing TDs, 1 receiving TD

Muskingum Valley League

Reece Perkins (WR/DB, John Glenn Little Muskies)

John Glenn won their first conference title in 40 years and Reece Perkins is a huge reason for that. Perkins was the go-to guy throughout the season and the postseason. In a 23-6 victory over Saint Clairsville, Perkins had two of the Little Muskies’ three touchdowns. As long as Perkins keeps getting the ball, John Glenn is in the running for a state championship.

  • 48 Receptions, 647 receiving yards, 11 receiving TDs
  • 26 total tackles, 2 fumble recoveries, 2 interceptions, 4 blocked punts

TVC-Hocking

Connor Wright (RB/LB, Trimble Tomcats)

Connor Wright came into the off season with his eyes on the prize. Wright looks to build off the momentum from an impressive regular season. In a hard fought 26-14 victory over Southern, Wright had 15 carries for 72 yards. Despite tougher defenses, Wright still finds a way to rack up the yards.

  • 131 carries, 1503 rushing yards, 24 rushing touchdowns

OUT:

Sawyer Koons (LB/FB, Trimble Tomcats)

Koons has been an absolute monster on the field. On the defensive side he strikes fear into offenses and shuts down a play before it even takes off. He is a force to be reckoned with, plain and simple. Even though he doesn’t make the final five, he is pivotal to the Tomcats’ playoff push.

Eli Lynch (WR/DB/Punter, Washington Court House Blue Lions)

Lynch has had an incredible year. With his height and agility, Lynch was a very dependable target for Rogers-Wright, and the stats prove it. It was a very tight decision between Lynch and Perkins.
