WESTERVILLE, Ohio (WOUB) — Kroger stores in most of Ohio will dedicate time for seniors and other customers at high risk for contracting the novel coronavirus to shop.

This does not apply to Ohio’s Kroger locations in Marietta, Proctorville, and Belpre; see more information about this below.

According to a press release, most Ohio Kroger stores will dedicate the first hour of shopping (7a.m.-8a.m.) for these customers on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays beginning March 23. This is for customers 60 and over, and customers at high risk for coronavirus, as defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This includes people with HIV, pregnant women, and people with underlying medical conditions.

Also, Kroger stores in most of Ohio will begin closing at 9p.m. starting Saturday, March 21 so employees can restock and clean the stores.

Marietta, Proctorville, and Belpre are part of Kroger’s Mid-Atlantic Division. These stores are currently open from 7a.m.-10p.m. A representative from Kroger said the Mid-Atlantic region (which also includes most of West Virginia and the city of Ashland, Kentucky), are considering implementing designated hours. No changes have been made at this time.
