New Study Recommends Better Solar Panels

A new study by an Athens-based company recommends the best types solar panels to install on roofs.
The study was conducted by Third Sun Solar, which designs and installs solar panel systems for customers in Ohio and surrounding states.
"We're trying to determine the most efficient production technology for solar," said Michelle Greenfield, CEO and founder of Third Sun Solar.
The study compared the performance of two solar panel technologies and found that crystalline solar panels have a higher total energy production and a more reliable performance prediction than panels made of thin-film solar cells.
Greenfield advised customers who have limited space on their roof to choose crystalline panels for more energy produced per square foot.
Greenfield said there exists price difference between the two types of panels.
"We help customers to choose the best products for their situation," Greenfield said.
