The game has been declared a no contest. This will be the first time the Bobcats and Redhawks will not play each other since the 1944 season.
“While we are disappointed for our student-athletes, coaches, fans and alumni that the Battle of the Bricks will not be contested this week, we knew schedule disruptions could be a possibility this season. The health and safety of our student-athletes remain our number one priority,” Ohio Director of Athletics Julie Cromer said Sunday in a statement on Twitter.
The program will be limiting team activities, according to a statement from Ohio head coach Frank Solich on Twitter.
“Out of caution, we’ve made the proactive decision to limit our team activities for now. We look forward to getting back on the field soon and competing,” Solich said.
Ohio’s next scheduled game is on Nov. 28 against Bowling Green at Peden Stadium.
