TVC-Ohio Boys standings see changes to the top 4, while Trimble remains atop the TVC-Hocking

1st Vinton County Vikings (5-3, 3-0)
Vinton County propelled to first place this week with a conference win over Athens as well as a victory over New Hope. The Vikings are now the only undefeated team in TVC-Ohio conference play and look to carry their momentum against Eastern and Marietta this week.
2nd Meigs Marauders (6-3, 3-1)
Meigs caused the biggest shift in rankings this past week, shooting from fourth to second with big wins over conference opponent Nelsonville-York and Southeastern. The Marauders are faced with their toughest matchup of the year this week against undefeated Trimble at home.
3rd Wellston Golden Rockets (5-4, 2-1)
After winning five straight matches to start the season, the Golden Rockets were shocked with back-to-back upsets against Conference opponent River Valley and Fairfield. Wellston now falls from first to third and resume play against Athens in the new year.
4th Alexander Spartans (4-5, 2-1)
Alexander dropped from third to fourth this past week after losing their sole game 61-54 against Southeastern. The Spartans face two tough opponents in New Lexington and Waterford next week.
5th Nelsonville-York Buckeyes (3-4, 1-3)
While Nelsonville-York retained fifth place in the standings this week, The Buckeyes suffered a blowout 66-38 loss against Meigs on Tuesday, tying them with River Valley in conference record. Nelsonville-York will square off against Trimble and New Lexington this week.
6th River Valley Raiders (2-6, 1-3)
River Valley’s moved up to sixth place in the TVC-Ohio this week in an upset 51-43 conference victory over top seeded Wellston on Tuesday. The Raiders will look to continue their momentum against Oak Hill this Tuesday.
7th Athens Bulldogs (1-7, 0-3)
The Bulldogs sole loss this week came against now top seeded Vinton County on Tuesday. Athens ends the new year with zero conference and the seventh seed in the TVC-Ohio.
TVC-Hocking Standings
1st Trimble Tomcats (6-0, 4-0)
The Tomcats retained the top spot with wins over Conference opponent South Gallia and Fort Frye. Trimble will look to keep their undefeated record alive with back-to-back TVC-Ohio matchups against Nelsonville-York and Meigs.
2nd Federal Hocking Lancers (5-3, 3-0)
The Lancers maintained their undefeated conference record in a close 55-53 victory over Waterford on Tuesday. Federal Hocking will look to further extend this record against conference opponent South Gallia on Monday.
3rd Waterford Wildcats (5-2, 2-2)
Waterford’s one loss this week came to the wire, as the Wildcats missed a buzzer beater against Federal Hocking. Even with the loss, Waterford moves up a spot in the rankings and will face off against St. Mary’s and Alexander this week.
4th South Gallia Rebels (3-2, 1-1)
The Rebels suffered a blowout 72-41 loss against Trimble last week, knocking them down from third to fourth in the rankings. South Gallia will have a chance to move up in the rankings on Monday against conference opponent Federal Hocking.
5th Belpre Golden Eagles (2-6, 1-2)
The Golden Eagles defeated Conference opponent Southern on Tuesday, overtaking the fifth seed with a sole conference win. Belpre will have a chance at three straight wins against South Webster on Tuesday.
6th Southern Tornadoes (4-5, 0-3)
The Tornadoes suffered consecutive losses against conference opponent Belpre and Meigs this past week, knocking them down from fifth to sixth in the rankings. Despite the 4-5 record, Southern has yet to record a conference win this season.
7th Eastern Eagles (0-8, 0-3)
Eastern’s woes continued this season with a loss against Point Pleasant on Tuesday, They’ll have a chance to record their first win against Vinton County and Wahama this week.
