Ohio University To Close Wolfe Street Apartments

Some Ohio University graduate students and their families will be looking for a new place to live in the next 6 months due to the fact that their on-campus apartment complex is closing.
Residential Housing will be closing the Wolfe Street apartments when current leases expire on June 15, 2012.
The building is a 52-unit graduate and family housing complex on the Athens campus.
The apartments are tentatively scheduled to be razed later this summer in connection with the campus Capital Improvement Plan and the Housing Master Plan.
Executive Director of Residential Housing Christine Sheets said in a press release that Residential Housing is very excited to begin the initial phase of the Housing Master Plan, but noted that the closure of the apartment complex will have a significant impact on the current tenants. "We have notified tenants well in advance of the closure date and have arranged housing resources for them. Assisting them in finding future housing off campus that meets their needs will be one of our top priorities," Sheets said.
The plan includes a variety of renovation and new construction projects over the next 10 years to improve the residential experience on the Athens campus.
The apartment complex site will temporarily serve as a parking lot.
