Vinton County claims fifth straight TVC-Ohio title, Waterford and Trimble share TVC-Hocking crown

TVC-Ohio Standings

1st Vinton County Vikings (15-4, 11-1) 

Vinton County clinched the TVC-Ohio title outright following their win against Alexander. Their quest to meet the State title game for the second straight year begins this week when they face off against McClain.

2nd Alexander Spartans (13-9, 9-3)

The Spartans started their week with an impressive out of conference win against Berne Union, but failed to end the regular season as TVC-Ohio champs following a 20 point loss to Vinton County. However, they started their regular season campaign strong with a win against South Point. They’ll hope to continue their postseason run with a tough matchup against New Lexington.

3rd Nelsonville-York Buckeyes (11-11, 8-4) 

The Buckeyes ended their regular season on a low note with a loss against Jackson, but bounced back in the first round of the playoffs against Northwest. They’ll look to continue their run against three seed Fairland on Tuesday.

4th Meigs Marauders (16-5, 7-5) 

The Bulldogs split games in their final week of the regular season with a wim against Wellston and a loss against Meigs. However, their postseason run started off strong with a win against Logan Elm. They’ll look to play spoiler against 2 seeded Fairfield Union.

5th Athens Bulldogs (5-15, 5-7) 

Meigs ended their regular season with wins against Belpre, Athens and River Vallehy, capping their season with four straight wins. They’ll look to start their postseaon campaign off strong against Circleville.

6th River Valley Raiders (6-15, 2-10) 

The Raiders finished the season with two losses against Vinton County and Meigs. Their postseason campaign will commence against Warren on Monday.

7th Wellston Golden Rockets (5-16, 0-12)

Wellston finished their season with 0 conference wins following loses against River Valley and Athens. Their postseason campaign officially ended with a 55-20 loss against Frankfort Adena.

TVC-Hocking Standings

T-1st Waterford Wildcats (19-3, 11-1) 

The Wildcats capped off their regular season with a victory over last place Federal Hocking, guaranteeing a share of the TVC-Ohio title. The fifth ranked team in the state will being their title conquest this Wednesday against Glenwood.

T-1st  Trimble Tomcats (18-4, 11-1) 

The Tomcats finished their regular season with a win over South Gallia, finishing the season as co-champs with Waterford. Their pursuit to a state title begins this Saturday in a game against Symmes Valley.

3rd  South Gallia Rebels (15-6, 8-4) 

South Gallia finished their season with a loss to Trimble, ending their impressive regular season campaign. They’ll start their first postseason game against Furnace Green on Wednesday.

4th  Eastern Eagles (10-10, 6-6) 

Eastern finished their regular season last week with a .500 conference and overall record with a win against Southern. However, their postseason was cut short with a loss against Lynchburg-Clay.

5th   Belpre Golden Eagles (6-16, 4-8) 

The Golden Eagles started their past week with a loss against Meigs, but finished their regular season with a win against Federal Hocking. Their postseason starts with a game against South Webster.

6th  Federal Hocking Lancers (3-15, 2-10)

The Lancers started the week off with a win against Mille, but failed to secure a win against Wahama to close out their regular season. Their regular season came to a close against Winchester Eastern.

7th Southern Tornadoes (3-19, 0-12) 

The Tornadoes finished their season winless in the conference with a loss against Eastern. They’ll be hoping for their fortunes to be reversed against Trimble in the tournament this week.
