Trimble Lady Tomcats fall to Chillicothe in final regular season matchup
< < Back to ?p=292650The Trimble Lady Tomcats fell at home to the Chillicothe Cavaliers in their final regular season matchup of the year.
The Cavaliers were in control from the opening tip. They took a commanding 20-8 lead by the end of the first quarter, and they wouldn’t relinquish the lead for the remainder of the night.
The Tomcats hung on in the second quarter, they matched the Cavaliers point total of 14 in the frame, led by star guard Jaylee Orsborne, who hit two threes in the quarter.
Orsborne would finish the night with a team high 18 points, and the Tomcats kept the deficit to 12 points heading into the locker room.
In the second half, Chillicothe began to, quite literally, run away from Trimble. They were able to run out in space to score easy transition buckets. This left the Tomcats, who have just two players on their bench, noticeably fatigued. When they weren’t scoring points in transition. They let it fly from deep. They were led on the offensive side by Avery Erlsan and Jacey Harding who dropped 23 and 18 points respectively.
The Cavaliers never looked back as they would continue their offensive clinic to claim the victory by a score of 65-43.
Trimble will look for a fresh start when they open up tournament play against Paint Valley on Wednesday, February 15th
