< < Back to ?p=325561HARRISON COUNTY, Ohio (WOUB) — In the only contested local race in Harrison County, an incumbent county commissioner was soundly defeated by his challenger.
Paul Prevot won with 61 percent of the vote in the Republican primary over incumbent Paul Coffland. No Democrat ran for the position, so Prevot is almost certain to clinch the seat in the November general election.
The county’s Republican voters gave Bernie Moreno a narrow win en route to his statewide victory and showdown with Democrat incumbent Sherrod Brown in November for a seat in the U.S. Senate. Moreno captured 41.5 percent of the vote, Frank LaRose received 39.6 percent and Matt Dolan received 18.9 percent.
