Bid To Replace Parkersburg DMV Exceeded Estimate
< < Back to bid-replace-parkersburg-dmv-exceeded-estimateThe state will seek new bids to replace the Division of Motor Vehicles regional office in Parkersburg after it received only one proposal with a $3 million price tag.
Department of Transportation spokesman Brent Walker says the $3 million bid exceeded the state's estimated cost.
Rebidding the project will push its completion from August to October.
The DMV closed its former office because of mold and other problems. Driver's license renewals, vehicle titling and other services are currently offered at a temporary site in the Park Shopping Center.
Walker says the building housing the temporary office also has problems.
