< < Back to ohio-national-guard-soldiers-funerals-set-weekFunerals with military honors are being held this week for the three Ohio National Guard soldiers killed in an attack by a suicide bomber in Afghanistan.
The services for 45-year-old Sgt. 1st Class Jeffrey Rieck of Columbus and 44-year-old Sgt. 1st Class Shawn Hannon of Grove City were scheduled Monday in those hometowns. U.S. Sen. Rob Portman was among hundreds of people who paused near flag-draped caskets during visitations for the men on Sunday.
They died after an April 4 attack that killed 13 people, including 36-year-old Capt. Nicholas Rozanski of Dublin. At least four more guardsmen were wounded.
The remains of the three Ohio soldiers who died were brought back to Ohio over the weekend. A funeral Mass for Rozanski was planned Wednesday.
