Hocking College Board Of Trustees Seek Fracking Education
< < Back to ?p=4590Members of the Hocking College Board of Trustees say they are learning all they can about hydraulic fracturing before making a decision about whether they will lease college land for the process.
The board met Tuesday night at the college's New Lexington campus, where a representative from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources talked to trustees about the drilling procedure.
Mike Brooks, chairman of the board, said the ODNR representative discussed the ways in which Ohio is observing fracking around the state and then answered trustees' questions about the process.
Brooks said the trustees have not decided whether fracking on Hocking College's land would help or hinder the college.
He says the board is planning to visit a Northeast Ohio well in May to learn more about the effects of fracking.
