State Park Receives Funding for Two Important Projects
< < Back to ?p=5009A Guernsey County state park is putting funds to use in two upgrading projects.
Salt Fork State Park is receiving $440,600 from recently approved state funds to replace their concessions and upgrade their monitoring system.
Park Manager Hal Harper says the project will begin September 4th.
Harper says the Salt Fork Marina needs a new floating concession stand.
The current concession stand can not float and has gone under water repeatedly.
Harper says the old concession stand has flooded so many times that it is badly damaged.
Salt Fork State Park will also be using the funds to make upgrades to a monitoring system located in an old building.
According to Harper, the system monitors the underground petroleum storage tank for leaks.
Harper says due to new technology the system is in dire need of an upgrade.
Salt Fork State Park is planning to have the project finished by December.
