More Than 70 Wells Drilled In Eastern Ohio
< < Back to more-70-wells-drilled-eastern-ohioThe latest data from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources indicates that new drilling efforts in the state are clipping right along.
According to last week's release from the Division of Oil and Gas Resources Management, 72 horizontal wells have been drilled in eastern Ohio, with a total of 236 wells permitted by the agency.
Records show Carroll County has the most sites permitted, with 83, followed by Columbiana County, with 35, and Jefferson County, which has 23 sites.
In southeast Ohio, Guernsey County has eight; Noble County has seven; Belmont County, 10; while Harrison County has 12; Monroe County, 16; and Tuscarawas County has six.
