AEP Power Restoration Complete In SE Ohio
< < Back to ?p=5635Eleven days after a wind storm knocked out power to 660,000 American Electric Power customers in Ohio, crews finally finished repair work on Tuesday in the last areas without power – Licking, Muskingum and Athens counties.\
All of the work was completed by 5 p.m. Tuesday, said Vikki Michalski, an AEP Ohio spokesperson.
The violent storm on June 29 swept from Indiana to the East Coast, wiping out electricity to more than 1 million homes and businesses nationwide.
Originally it was thought that AEP crews would need until about midnight Wednesday to finish work in Muskingum and Athens counties.
But crews were able to get their work done a day earlier than projected.
AEP spokesperson Carmen Prati-Miller said that any customer who remains without power should call 1-800-672-2231, in case AEP missed any home or business.
