Regional Foundation Gets $200,000 Grant

The Foundation for Appalachian Ohio is in the business of acquiring funds and using the money for quality of life programs in our 32 county region.
The goal of a new grant received by the Foundation is to accomplish that kind of thing on a local level in nine communities.
The grant is for $200,000 and it will provide assistance to residents so they can establish their own foundations.
These foundations would then be able to support community and economic development projects with their own funding sources.
The funding announced today is from a federal program to promote economic growth in low-income, rural communities.
Cara Dingus Brook is the president and CEO of the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio.
She says, "We are so excited for the opportunities these resources will create in Appalachian Ohio."
