Sheriff Warns Of Health Inspector Imposter
< < Back to sheriff-warns-health-inspector-imposterThe Lawrence County sheriff is warning residents to be on the lookout for a person posing as an inspector for the county health department.
The incident happened Thursday at a home on Township Road 1506 in Proctorville about 11 a.m.
The health department and Sheriff Jeff Lawless says the man showed the homeowner a silver badge with "Health Inspector" stamped on it, and said he had a warrant to inspect the home.
Lawless say the homeowner let the man inside but became concerned and began to question him about why he was there.
At that point, the man left the house.
The homeowner was not harmed, and nothing was missing from the house.
Lawless says the man was about six feet tall with brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a white dress shirt, blue jacket, and driving a maroon Dodge car.
Anyone with information about the man is asked to call the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office.
