EPA Taking Water Samples After Large-Scale Fish Kill
< < Back to ?p=6432Officials in Tuscarawas County are investigating the cause of the second large-scale fish kill in the area in less than a month.
According to reports, wildlife officers were called to a section of the Tuscarawas River near New Philadelphia early last week.
A number of dead fish were discovered, covering a 13-mile stretch of the river, involving untold thousands of fish.
Authorities hope to have some answers this week, after the EPA reports on water samples taken from the area.
This puzzle comes just weeks after officials investigated the death of thousands of fish in Sugar Creek near Dover.
Sources say that it's believed the deaths were caused by some sort of toxin, rather than a natural occurrence.
