Body Pulled From Scioto River In 1975 Identified
< < Back to body-pulled-scioto-river-1975-identifiedA coroner says a body discovered in the Scioto River in 1975 has been identified as a patient from a veterans medical center in southern Ohio after a family member recognized a facial reconstruction.
A Ross County coroner's release says the man whose body was exhumed for DNA testing was Arthur Raymond Flowers of Hardin County.
Flowers was a patient at the Chillicothe Veterans Affairs Medical Center in June 1975 when he was reported missing.
The statement says a fisherman found him in the river that month.
Flowers' age wasn't released.
The coroner says Flowers' niece saw a facial reconstruction photo released to the media in May and contacted the coroner's office after noticing it resembled her uncle.
DNA from the body matched that of Flowers' brother.
