Window Closing For WV Governments For Storm Aid

State and local governments in West Virginia are running out of time to apply for federal disaster assistance to help pay costs related to severe storms in late June and early July.
Forty-seven counties are eligible for public assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
The deadline to apply is Friday.
The funding can be used to pay for debris removal, emergency protective measures and repairs to public facilities.
A windstorm on June 29 and subsequent storms left three people dead and more than 680,000 customers without electricity across the state.
FEMA has approved individual assistance for residents in Fayette, Kanawha, Nicholas and Raleigh counties.
