Group Confesses To Beating, Robbing Elderly Coolville Woman

UPDATE 2:28 P.M. A fourth man is in custody in connection with the beating and robbery of an elderly Coolville woman.

Sheriff Pat Kelly says officers arrested Cody Stout, 23, of Coolville, on charges of complicity to commit aggravated burglary and felonious assault.

Three other suspects confessed to kicking in Ota Vincent's front door, beating her, stabbing her in the neck and robbing her.

Kelly says additional charges are expected at a future Athens County grand jury session


A group of men who attacked an elderly Coolville woman at her home in January are now all behind bars.

Athens County Sheriff Pat Kelly says 20-year-old Christopher Fleming, 19-year-old Brandon Baker, both of Belpre, and 20-year-old Colin Stout, of Coolville, all confessed to the crime after being arrested Tuesday.
 
Kelly says on January 24, the men kicked in 82-year-old Ota Vincent's front door, beat her severely, stabbed her in the neck and robbed her. 
 
Vincent spent months rehabilitating in the hospital from her injuries.
 
The men are being held in the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail on $100,000 bond each.
 
Fleming is charged with complicity to aggravated burglary and felonious assault.
 
Baker and Stout are charged with aggravated burglary and felonious assault.
 
Kelly says the men are scheduled to appear in court Wednesday by telecommunications.
