WOUB-TV Back On Air
< < Back to woub-tv-back-airUPDATE 8:22 A.M. WOUB's Athens television transmitter is now fully operational and back on the air.
Engineers resolved the problem at approximately 11:20 p.m. Tuesday night.
The equipment malfunction may have caused viewers problems while watching channel 20.
Viewers receiving WOUB-TV's signal over the air may need to rescan televisions or converter boxes to reset the channels in your system.
WOUB apologizes for any inconvenience.
WOUB's Athens television transmitter, channel 20, is still off the air.
The transmitter has been off the air since Saturday, and engineers have been working since then to rebuild and reinstall a power tube in the transmitter. Voltage is now being applied slowly to prevent future damage to the transmitter.
Engineers are hoping to return service soon.
Viewers in the northern part of the viewing area can still access WOUC, channel 44, based in Cambridge.
