Boy Injured After Fall From Car
< < Back to boy-injured-after-fall-carPolice say a juvenile riding on the trunk of a vehicle fell and injured his head in the same city where another teen died last month after falling off the hood of a vehicle while "car-surfing."
Police in Chillicothe say Blade DeMint, 11, was injured Thursday afternoon after he fell from a moving vehicle in a residential neighborhood and struck his head on the ground.
They said DeMint was flown to a Columbus hospital, and the extent of his injury wasn't known.
Officer Bud Lytle says a 29-year-old woman picked up her 11-year-old son and DeMint approximately two blocks from where the accident took place.
The boys were sitting on the trunk of her Dodge Stratus, rather than in the vehicle.
No charges have been filed, but Lytle says there is the possibility of charges as the investigation is ongoing.
The incident comes less than two weeks after a 16-year-old boy fell from a car hood in a Chillicothe parking lot.
He died as a result of a severe head injury.
