Authorities Capture Suspect Wanted In Connection With Death Of Baby

UPDATE: 12/3/12 @ 7:15 a.m. Authorities said they have captured a man who's been accused of causing fatal brain injuries to his girlfriend's 10-month-old baby in central Ohio.

The Pickaway County Sheriff's Office said 44-year-old Wayne Martin Walker was arrested by U.S. marshals Sunday as he stepped off a Greyhound bus in Sacramento, Calif.

Deputies said Walker lived with the baby's 24-year-old mother in Laurelville. She called 911 early Wednesday to report that her infant son was unresponsive.

Kyle Calton suffered injuries consistent with shaken-baby syndrome. He died at a Columbus hospital Thursday.

Walker is being held under a $1 million bond and will be brought back to Ohio to face a murder charge. Information about legal representation wasn't available Monday.


UPDATE: 11:33 a.m. Pickaway County Sheriff's deputies have charged the boyfriend of a Laurelville woman with murder in the death of her 10-month old son.

An arrest warrant has been issued for 44-year-old Wayne "Wolf" Walker.

Walker is believed to be traveling south through Kentucky.  He is described as a white male, just over six feet tall with brown hair and eyes.  He weighs approximately 204 pounds and has extensive tattoo on his body, especially on the neck and both arms.

Walker is also wanted in California.

Deputies arrived at the house in Laurelville Wednesday morning to find Kyle Calton unresponsive.

Medics transported the boy to Children's Hospital.

Deputies say doctors determined the baby was brain dead and took it off life support Thursday morning.


A 10-month-old Ohio boy is dead after police say he was shaken to death.

The Pickaway County Sheriff's Office says when deputies arrived at a house in Laurelville Wednesday morning the boy was not breathing.

Medics transported the boy to Children's Hospital.

Deputies say doctors determined the baby was brain dead and took it off life support Thursday morning.

Authorities say they are looking to question the mother's boyfriend Wayne "Wolf" Walker about what happened.
