Ohio Claims 14 Top 10 Finishes On Day Two
< < Back toOut of 14 events the Ohio women's indoor track and field team captured 14 top 10 finishes in the Golden Flash Gala meet at Kent State. These finishes can be added to the five top 10 finishes the team secured on the first day of events.
Sophomore Chanda Cuckler achieved the first top 10 finish in the high jump with a height of 1.65m. In another field event the 'Cats got a fifth place finish from Sophomore Janiece Rose in the shot put with a distance of 13.48m. Rose also finished tenth in the weight throw on Friday.
The women performed well in the distance events also. In the one mile run Ohio attained three of the top 10 finishes as freshman Tessa Weigand, senior Lauren Adkins and freshman Sarah Kaufman finished fourth, seventh and ninth, respectively. All three recorded times under 5:35.
In the 1000 meter run the Bobcats finished fifth and eighth as Lauren Adkins and Sarah Kaufman completed the event with times of 3:14.42 and 3:17.53 respectively.
The 'Cats almost swept the 800 meter event as seniors Erin Gale and Danielle Winningham and sophomore Delaney Bolger finished second, third and fourth, respectively, with times below 2:21.
In another distance event Freshman Krista Roehlig achieved the eighth spot with a time of 10:54.61.
In the short distance events Ohio won three top 10 finishes.
In the 400m event Senior Danielle Winningham and Freshman Karissa Conrad finished third and tenth, respectively, with times of 57.63 and 1:00.03.
In the 4×400 meter relay the 'Cats got the tenth spot as the team of Chanda Cuckler, Karissa Conrad, Delaney Bolger and Danielle Winningham finished with a time of 4:08.14.
The Bobcats will compete again in the TUTF Carnival in Tiffin, Ohio, on Jan. 18 and 19.
