New Lexington police arrested Austin Brooks in the Roseville area early Wednesday morning with assistance from the Muskingum County and Perry County sheriff's offices.
Brooks' grandfather had filed a report with police Tuesday, claiming his grandson had assaulted him and verbally threatened him.

Following the report, the New Lexington City Schools were placed on lockdown and the Fairfield County SRT team was called in.
Brooks is being held in the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail on charges of domestic violence, aggravated menacing and inducing panic.
Brooks will be arraigned in Perry County Court on Thursday.
