Wet Year-End Forecast – Snow Emergencies End

Things returned to normal Monday weather-wise in Southheast Ohio.
Partly sunny skies were seen Monday morning with a chance of rain expected in the afternoon.
Highs were forecast to be in in the upper 30s in Athens and surrounding counties.
Still a chance of snow was forecast for the evening and into the night with low temperatures remaining in the 30s.
Snow was forecast for the first day of 2013 with an inch of accumulation expected in Athens and as much as two inches in southern Ohio counties.
All counties in the region dropped their snow emergency status by Monday morning.
Those designations were made after six-inches of snow fell throughout the region Friday night and into Saturday causing slick roads and power outages for thousands.
AEP-Ohio had successfully restored power to all residents by Sunday.
