Trimble Trounces Eastern
< < Back to trimble-trounces-easternMissing two of their key players, Konner Standley stepped up to guide the Trimble Tomcats to a decisive victory over the Eastern Eagles, 77-34. Standley led the way for the Tomcats, scoring 24 points to go along with two rebounds and a pair of assists.
With Cody and Wyatt Bragg both missing the game, the Tomcats needed a strong showing from their upperclassmen. They answered the call with an astounding game not only on offense, but on the defensive side as well.
In a game that was fast paced, the Tomcats controlled the flow of the game from start to finish. The Tomcats stifling defense held the Eagles to just seven first half points. Austin Downs and Wyatt Deak each had four of the teams 15 steals.
Kirk Pullins was a bright spot for the Eagles, scoring 13 points and grabbing seven rebounds. In the end, it was not enough though, as the Eagles could never make up for the early deficit.
On a night where Trimble High School celebrated their winter formal, the Tomcats were able to walk away with the victory, improving to 8-7 on the season.
The Tomcats head to Wellston Jan. 19th, to play the Golden Rockets in a Tri-Valley Conference match-up at 7:30 p.m.
