Buckeyes Fade Down Stretch Against Crooksville

N-Y had the momentum on their side for the first half, but it did not translate into the second, where they allowed Crooksville to outscore them 35-18.
Emmitt Reed led the Buckeyes with 18 points. Sophomore Kolt Adams also contributed with nine points and four rebounds.
Crooksville was led by senior Lake Channel with a double-double 21 points and 10 rebounds. Senior Caleb Jago chipped in with 11 points and 3 steals.
Nelsonville dominated the entire first half, causing turnovers and not allowing any second shots by Crooksville.
They were up 28-6 halfway through the second quarter when Crooksville got a boost of energy and narrowed the gap to 28-19 at the half.
From the midpoint in the second quarter to the end of the third, Crooksville went on a 28-6 run, tying it up to end the third quarter 34-34.
The final eight minutes featured the teams going basket for basket, until N-Y got into fouling trouble, giving up 10 points from the free throw line.
Those free throws as well as poor shot selection led to N-Y putting one more loss on their record.
Coach Kline is looking forward to next season. “We’ll lick our wounds and come back as hard as we can,” he said.
The Buckeyes ended their season 16-7, and 6-4 in the conference. They finished third in the TVC-Ohio.
