< < Back to ohio-state-patrol-focusing-impaired-driving-enforcementThe Ohio State Highway Patrol says an increased focus on impaired driving enforcement is paying off.
The Patrol says in 2012 troopers made more than 24 thousand OVI arrests statewide – up three percent from 2011.
There were just over 12 thousand OVI related crashes in the state – killing 431 and injuring almost 73 hundred people.
OVI related crashes dropped 14 percent in 20-12. Impaired drivers were responsible for 40 percent of fatal crashes last year.
