Join Athens Photo Project and the City of Athens for a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Saturday, October 27th from 3:30 – 4:30pm at the Athens City Parking Garage located at 7 E. Washington St., in Athens. The ceremony will honor APP’s new public art installation, A Thousand Word, and provide an opportunity for the community to meet the artists and celebrate this exciting addition to Uptown Athens!

Continuous shuttle service from APP’s Studio (434 W. Union St.) will be available for APP artists and audience members beginning 30min prior to each event and ending 30min after.

Athens Photo Project (APP) partnered with the City of Athens to create A Thousand Words, a permanent art installation that celebrates the community and landscape of Southeast Ohio as seen through the creative lens of our regional photographers. Photographs presented within the installation will rotate on a biennial basis, and will feature group exhibitions from APP artists and juried exhibitions open to all regional photographers. This inaugural exhibit will feature work by 33 artists who participated in 2016-2017 APP classes.
