Focus on the book as object can be almost an act of rebellion in contemporary times. In this course , with Hillary Gattian (Tuesdays June 28-August 16 from 5:30pm-7:30pm), participants will use the underlying information and imagery found in uniquely chosen secondhand books as both inspiration and a ready surface on which to make new artwork. Books will become both the sketchbook and the canvas.
