Join Margaret Gustafan, on Tuesdays (Sept. 27-Nov. 15) from 5:30pm-7:30pm, for #A182 Pottery II: Garden Pots. This class teaches wheel throwing and soft slab construction methods, along with carving and stamping techniques to create durable ceramic vessels and sculptures for the garden. Participants will explore surface design using additive and subtractive processes, in addition to a variety of ways to utilize glazes. Students will gain new hand building and wheel throwing skills and take home several flower pots, a fairy house and herb markers. All garden pottery made during this workshop will be glazed and fired. This eight-week class features instructor demonstrations, hands-on learning and available Open Studio time outside of regular scheduled classes. This class is best suited for those who have basic wheel throwing skills and feel comfortable wedging, centering and throwing small to medium sized cylinders. (Equivalent to The Dairy Barn Intro to Wheel Throwing I class.)
