What Happens When Black Holes Collide?

September 30, 2016 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Free

Astronomer Ryan Chornock presents a discussion about the detection of two black hole mergers in the last year. This event verified Einstein’s prediction from one century earlier that ripples in space and time can travel as waves and that black holes actually exist in nature.

Talk and question-answer: 6:00 to 7:00 PM.

Wine and cheese from 5:30 to 6:00 PM.  Appetizers and wine provided. Donations gratefully accepted.

Sponsored by Soul Biscuits, a non-profit, secular community series promoting community connections, relaxation, and artistic/intellectual nurture. Please contact elizabeththompson1004@gmail.com for more information. All events hosted by the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd.
