Hocking River Tree Planting
April 2, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
FreeOn April 2nd, the Hocking River Conservancy along with Rural Action will be planting 3900 trees along the Hocking River near Logan, and we need your help! These trees will be planted to reclaim an old field on the banks of the Hocking River, bringing back an important riparian buffer back to the ecosystem. These trees will serve to filter runoff, provide a habitat to native animals, and provide important nutrients to the stream.
Volunteers can meet at the Rural Action office, located at 9030 Hocking Hills Dr. in the Plains, and caravan to the site. The caravan will depart at 8:30 a.m. Volunteers can also travel to the site at their own convenience. The address for the location is 35201 Well Rd, Logan, OH 43138 and we will meet there at 9 a.m. Bring sturdy footwear and clothing, work gloves, plenty of water, snacks/bag lunch, and if you have your own shovel, bring it along!
