The Dairy Barn Arts Center is pleased to announce our Spring exhibitions- Modern Inspirations- Art quilts from 1970s through today presented by Studio Art Quilt Associates and Modern Quilts: Designs of the New Century presented by the Modern Quilt Guild. The two exhibitions will be displayed together in the Sauber Gallery from April 28 through June 17, with an exhibition opening on April 27 from 5-8pm.

Admission for the exhibitions will be $5 general/ senior/ student and free for children under 12 and Barn members. Exhibition and Gallery Shop hours are Tuesday-Sunday 12-5pm. Group tours available- call ahead at 740-592-4981!

Modern Inspirations- Art quilts from 1970s through today presented by SAQA documents the rich history of the art quilt movement as it relates to the development of this new quilt aesthetic. This exhibition of 30 iconic historic and contemporary quilts by master artists from around the world is a feast for the eyes, filled with gorgeous art. This engaging chronological presentation demonstrates the development and continuing power of the art quilt movement.

Modern Quilts: Designs of the New Century will allow viewers to experience the power of modern quilts firsthand with over 60 innovative and inspiring quilts that represent the best modern quilts and quilters of the past decade. In this exhibit, you’ll see the work of modern quilters, past and present, and learn the story of modern quilting from its earliest roots and influences to today.
