The 1^st Annual OVST Double-Feature 5k Fun Run/Walk

ATHENS, Ohio  – Ohio Valley Summer Theater is continuing their initiative to facilitate community engagement and provide fun for Athens residents. With their first ever Double-Feature 5k Fun Run/Walk, OVST is bringing an active and healthy lifestyle and the world of Rocky Horror together!

On Saturday, October 5^th, a 5K Fun Run/Walk will begin at 5pm at the W. State Street Park, with an after-party at Little Fish Brewery at 7pm. Both events will be Rocky Horror themed and will be fun for all ages. Participants are encouraged to dress in their best Rocky Horror inspired outfits and have a chance to be entered in our costume contest. There will be selfie stations at every mile marker with costumed characters from Lost Flamingo Company’s annual shadow cast production of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. The course will be along the beautiful, scenic bike path at W. State Street Park. All pre-registered participants will receive a race packet that will include a t-shirt, goodies from local sponsors, and a drink ticket for our family-friendly after-party at Little Fish Brewery.

All money raised from this event will go to support Ohio Valley Summer Theater. OVST offers high-quality performances for the entire family; partners with theater professionals, Ohio University faculty and students, and community members; offers an annual youth theater camp; and helps to organize and support regional arts events and performances year-round.  OVST is proud to be a community heritage organization that adds to the vibrant, cultural fabric of Athens County and the surrounding Appalachian region.
