Three people are in custody in Scioto County on drug charges after a sheriff's deputy found drugs and paraphernalia in their car during a traffic stop.
Sheriff Marty Donini says a Washington Township deputy stopped the silver SUV in West Portsmouth.
After searching the vehicle, the deputy found two balloons of heroin, methadone pills, syringes, snorting straws, metal spoons and a suspected crack pipe.
The deputy arrested Melissa Farney, 45, of West Portsmouth, Anthony Cooper, 25, of Columbus, and Tequila Estep, 23 of Portsmouth.
A seven-year-old child who was in the vehicle at the time was released to family members.
All three are set to appear in Portsmouth Municipal Court on December 2nd.
