Ohio's TJ Hall dunks against Marietta. The Bobcats improved to 8-1, which marks the best start for Ohio since 1969-70.

The Ohio football team played six games on the ESPN family of networks this season, now the basketball team will be featured on the national stage, too.

Ohio's game at Akron on Jan. 14 will be televised on ESPNU. This is a rematch of the last two Mid-American Conference Tournament champions.

According to the Ohio athletic department, this is the first of three possible contests for Ohio on the ESPN family of networks (excluding the ESPNU BracketBuster event and the MAC Tournament). The ‘Cats could also be selected for an ESPN slot when they host Ball State on Jan. 28, which is also "Be Blue" Prostate Cancer Awareness night, and on Feb. 11 at Eastern Michigan.

Other games that will be televised this season as of now include: Jan. 7 at Bowling Green, Jan. 18 vs Kent State, Jan. 25 vs Western Michigan can be seen on SportsTime Ohio (STO).

The Feb. 18 ESPN Bracketbuster game (opponent TBD) could be chosen as one of the 13 games to be televised on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU. Ohio's opponent for that game will be announced on Jan. 30.
