U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin is set to officially file his paperwork to seek re-election.

The West Virginia State Democratic Party says Manchin is scheduled to file the paperwork on Wednesday at the secretary of state's office in Charleston.

Manchin was elected in November 2010 to fill the unexpired term of the late Robert C. Byrd, history's longest-serving member of Congress.
