A Waverly company is tasked with paving a spur connecting Athens High School to the Hockhocking Adena Bikeway path.

Foill Inc. placed the lowest bid for the project at $480,913.02 and was awarded the contract Thursday.

The Ohio Department of Transportation had estimated the job would cost about $504,000.

In all, 10 companies bid for the bike path extension project.

The work is scheduled for completion by September 2013.

The project is designed to connect Athens High School to the existing path.
