In a fierce TVC-Ohio conference battle between the Athens Bulldogs and Meigs Marauders, the Bulldogs were able to come out on top, winning 68-62.

Ibi Watson and Joe Burrow lead the way for the Bulldogs tonight as they combined for 44 points. Burrow scored a game-high 26 points while Watson contributed 18. Watson also played strong in the fourth, as he was perfect from the foul line to cement the win for Athens. The Bulldogs struggled on defense though, as they gave Meigs the three-point shot for most of the second half.

Athens players with a slower than usual night included Zacchia Saltzman and both of the Luerhman boys. These three combined for only 15 points as they had to rely on Watson and Burrow to lead the team.

The Marauders outscored the Bulldogs in the second half 39-33 and were even able to cut the lead to three at one point. Kalieb Sheets scored 18 for Meigs to lead the team. Cody Stewart also had double digits with 13. The Marauders will travel to River Valley tomorrow to as they try to get back on a winning streak after Athens snapped their four game streak.

The Bulldogs will have to turn around quickly from this game as they play Wellston Saturday on the road. This game will be tough for Athens as they lost to the Rockets by two at home midway through December.
