President Roderick McDavis just sent the following email about one of the university’s top administrators:

“Ryan Lombardi, our Vice President for Student Affairs, has accepted the position of Vice President for Student and Campus Life at Cornell University. Ryan’s term ends on July 3, 2015.

Ryan has been a welcoming and energetic presence on campus since he joined Ohio University in May 2008 as our Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students, before moving into his role as our Interim Vice President for Student Affairs in June 2012. He became our permanent Vice President for Student Affairs in January 2013. I am deeply appreciative of his tireless advocacy on behalf of students, the strong relationships he developed with our city partners and the unique partnerships he spearheaded with our faculty and colleges to enhance the student experience. I know he will continue to do great things in his new position at Cornell.

With Ryan’s departure, an Interim Vice President for Student Affairs will be appointed to fulfill the position’s duties and responsibilities as a national search gets underway. A search firm will be hired and a university-wide search committee will be formed to identify candidates to permanently fill the position. Announcements regarding these next steps will be forthcoming.

I hope you will join me in congratulating Ryan on this exciting new professional opportunity. We thank him and his wife Kara, Associate Director for Academics in our College of Business, for their dedicated service to OHIO. We wish their family much continued success and happiness in this next chapter of their lives!”
