Highway Patrol Investigating What Caused Fatal Accident Near Lancaster
< < Back to highway-patrol-investigating-what-caused-fatal-accident-near-lancasterThe Lancaster Post of the State Highway Patrol is trying to figure out what caused a head on collision that killed a teenager.
The accident happened yesterday around 11:45 a.m on State Route 188 and Mudhouse Road near Lancaster.
Kayla Dingess, 19, of Lancaster was killed in the crash.
Investigators say Dingess was headed south on State Route 188 when she went left of center and hit a Lancaster Public Transit bus.
The bus was driven by Sean Brentlinger, 36, also of Lancaster.
Brentlinger was taken to Fairfield Medical Center where he was treated and released.
Dingess's mother, Melissa Abel, posted on her daughter's facebook page this morning.
Abel said "She is loved by many and will be missed more than i can express right now. There are not enough spaces to express what a wonderful I have. She will live on in all of us."
A separate facebook page has been set up to remember Dingess.
