Ohio Board Of Regents Chancellor Calls Meeting With Hocking College Board Of Trustees
< < Back to ohio-board-regents-chancellor-calls-meeting-hocking-college-board-trusteesThe Chancellor of the Ohio Board of Regents has requested a meeting with the Hocking College Board of Trustees.
Trustee Mike Brooks says Jim Petro is going to address the board to give the group guidelines on proper board governance and point the board in a new direction.
The Hocking College Board of Trustees has been under fire in recent months after the controversial dismissal of College President Ron Erickson in June.
Erickson was relieved of his duties as president after a long power struggle with the board of trustees.
Brooks said, "Hocking has not really had a good track record in the last three years. I think the public and the chancellor recognize that."
The board will have four new board members at the meeting with Petro, which is scheduled for October 4 at 4 p.m.
"He's aware Hocking has not performed well as a board for some time. He wants to assist in helping us understand what our responsibilities are and are not," said Brooks.
