Patriots Look to Rebound Against Musselman
< < Back to patriots-look-rebound-against-musselmanParkersburg South has already experienced highs and lows this season, with an emotional win at Ripley in week one, and a humbling 28-7 defeat to Morgantown last Friday. When Musselman comes calling for game three, the Patriots will be hoping they play with the tenacity that has led them to victory already this season.
The Applemen will be traveling across the state with a 2-0 record after tough wins against Virginia high schools Skyline and Wood. They are led by coach Denny Price and are currently ranked 16th in West Virginia. Last week, Parkersburg South failed to establish any momentum against Morgantown, as the Mohigans used their size advantage to shut down the Patriots’ offense, while finding holes for their offense to rush for 332 yards.
Tyler Bolen threw for 64 yards and a touchdown for South, and Braxton Johnson led the team with 75 multipurpose yards. Both players will need to step up their games tonight if they wish to be effective. Was the Patriots’ performance against Morgantown a fluke or an indication of a long season? One thing is for certain: tonight’s game at Erickson All-Sports Facility is a massive, must-see game with playoff points at stake.
