Fracking Fight Continues In Athens
< < Back to fracking-fight-continues-athensToday the Cunningham Energy Company out of West Virginia was at the Ohio University Inn encouraging Athens residents to sign leases so the company can look for natural gas and oil on the residents land and possibly conduct hydraulic fracturing.
Also present at the OU Inn was the Athens Fracking Interest Group and regional community members.

Opponents of fracking were outside the Inn today in an attempt to get people to think twice about leasing their land to Cunningham Energy. (interview below)
Hydrolic Fracturing is a way to recover natural gas and oil from sources such as coal beds and shale gas formations.
