Man Beat Up While Waiting For Bus In Athens

Athens Police say a man is recovering at O'Bleness Hospital after being attacked while waiting for a bus this afternoon.
It happened on Columbus Road around 1:30 p.m.
Officer Ron Brooks says the victim, Dana Peck of Athens, was waiting for an Athens Transit bus when a car pulled up near him.
Brooks says a man got out of the car and attacked Peck.
Peck suffered head and facial injuries, but they are not life-threatening.
Police say they found the suspect, but Peck has decided not to prosecute.
Brooks says the two were acquaintances.
