< < Back to two-health-agencies-uniteFamily Healthcare and Tri-County Mental Health and Counseling Services are joining forces.
The two announced today "their intent to formally consolidate their two organizations."
The idea is "to strengthen the health care safety net and to improve access to quality care for our communities."
Family Healthcare – based in Chillicothe – provides primary care, pediatrics and dentistry to residents of six counties in southeastern Ohio.
Tri-County – based in Athens – is a mental health center serving five counties in the region.
The announcement comes "After more than a year of planning and several joint meetings of their respective Boards of Directors."
And a news release says the organizations "emphasized that this consolidation is not about cutting costs or reducing jobs."
It says "All services being currently provided will continue."
The consolidation is expected to be completed "within the next 12 months."
